In line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s initiative to enhance mass transportation infrastructure, Hassan Allam Holding (HAH) announced it has been awarded by the Ministry of Transportation (MOT) the construction works of two stations and four bridges for the high-speed train project.
Hassan Allam Construction will build the Alamein station and Wadi El Natroun station, while Hassan Allam Roads and Bridges will build four bridges in the same project, these will consist of two road bridges and two rail bridges. The first road bridge will extend over 195 meters and 70 meters in width on the regional ring road, the second is located on the Quarry Road and will have a length of 520 meters and a width of 30 meters. As for the rail bridges, the first will stretch over 1000 meters with a width of 13.3 meters, while the second will be designated for the high-speed train in the 6th of October City and will extend over 3,000 meters with a width of 13.3 meters. The total estimated cost of HAH’s scope amounts to USD 220mn.
Commenting on the project Eng. Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding, said: “The high-speed train is one of the most important national projects that the Egyptian government has announced. The high-speed train project will serve as a new Suez Canal, linking the New Administrative Capital and the new cities with a fast railway network. The line will serve residents of New Cairo, 6th of October, El Alamein, Borg El Arab, and Alexandria and provide them with a fast and reliable railway network. The project also contributes to the development of the East coast on the Red Sea and accelerates the speed of development in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Moreover, it also serves the development of the Wadi al-Natrun axis, the Dabaa axis, and northwestern coast, as well as the transport of goods from the port of Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea to Alexandria on the Mediterranean.
