Cairo, Egypt – 1st March 2022: Egypt’s leading tourism investment company and real estate developer, Abu Soma Touristic Development Company (ASDC), owner of Somabay, in partnership with The Cascades Golf Hotel and Somabay Golf hosted the Grand Final of Strawberry Golf Tournament at from February 26th till March 1st, 2022 at The Cascades Golf Resort.
The event witnessed 87 European golfers who won regional tournaments across Europe for the opportunity to compete and win one of the 17 trophies offered to the winners at the grand finale. The Tournament week Kicked off with a cocktail reception hosted on the newly developed Short Game Arena to announce the start of the Tournament Round on February 27th. During the Opening cocktail reception competitors had the opportunity to play the newly developed Somabay Golf Short Game Arena and compete for the World’s longest Night Putt. The main tournament, which took place on the 1st of March, was followed by a magnificent Gala Night to distribute the prizes and mark the end of the Strawberry Tour Final at Somabay.
Being the well-renowned for sports activities, Somabay first opened its signature 18-hole, par 72, Gary Player designed golf course in 1998. It is noteworthy that Somabay is committing to constant investments in the golf facilities with a second 18-hole golf course and Short Course underway, both designed by world-famous, Australian golf course architect, Tim Lobb of Lobb & Partners. A new 5,000 sqm Short Game facility, designed by James Edwards from EDI, is also currently under construction.
