Tamami Group for General Contracting has launched Aseel Developments, its real estate arm, and unveiled its inaugural project, Downtown, in New Mansoura city, as part of a strategic expansion aligned with the state’s vision for sustainable development and fourth-generation cities.
The announcement was made during a major ceremony held at the Steigenberger El Lessan Hotel, attended by members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as the project’s partners and key stakeholders.
Tamami: An Economic Footprint Spanning More Than 30 Years
Eng. Walid Al-Tamami, Member of the Senate and Chairman of Tamami Group for General Contracting, said that Egypt has successfully fostered a healthy investment environment in recent years, supported by robust infrastructure and a clear sustainable development vision, enabling the rise of well-established entities with the expertise and execution capabilities to deliver major projects.
He noted that the launch of Aseel Developments marks a natural extension of the group’s more than 30-year legacy in contracting and engineering consultancy. Founded by Mr. Salah Al-Tamami in Saudi Arabia in 1975 in partnership with Saudi businessman Mr. Abu Bakr Bawazir, the group later expanded into Egypt with the establishment of Tamami Group for General Contracting in 1989, building a strong and lasting presence in the Egyptian construction sector.
Al-Tamami explained that the group has decided to transfer this accumulated expertise to the real estate development sector through the launch of its real estate arm, aiming to deliver integrated developments built on execution quality, in-depth market studies, and the creation of real, sustainable value for both clients and investors.
He also noted that selecting the Delta region—specifically New Mansoura city—for the launch of Aseel Developments’ first project reflects a differentiated vision focused on capturing genuine investment opportunities beyond traditional markets, as New Mansoura stands out as one of Egypt’s leading fourth-generation cities, embodying the state’s direction toward balanced urban development.
Eng. Walaa Elmy, CEO of Aseel Developments, stated that the company has a clear strategic vision and aims to develop a diversified portfolio of projects.
He noted that the decision to launch the company’s first development in New Mansoura city reflects Aseel Developments’ strong belief in the value of promising cities and their role in shaping the future of Egypt’s urban development.
He added, “Our choice of New Mansoura city for the launch of our first project is driven by our confidence in the city’s strong growth potential and its ability to accommodate modern developments that meet market needs and serve a broad base of clients and investors across the Delta region—an assessment supported by comprehensive market studies.”
Elmy noted that Downtown is an 11-acre mixed-use commercial and administrative development, designed to provide a contemporary experience for the city and its residents while addressing market needs. The company aims for the project to become the central hub of New Mansoura city.
He noted that Downtown is an integrated mixed-use development that brings together entertainment, service, and investment offerings, reflecting Aseel Developments’ vision to serve diverse customer segments and create a landmark destination in New Mansoura city.
Elmy concluded that Downtown is a comprehensive project blending leisure, service, and investment elements, showcasing Aseel Developments’ approach to creating mixed-use developments that meet the diverse needs of clients and set a distinctive mark in New Mansoura.
